From MyFox National Reports
It looked like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock film or "Jurassic Park."
Peter Hitchener, an anchor on Australia's Channel Nine news , was on camera on Wednesday night when a giant seagull appeared on the screen behind him. Turns out it was a normal-sized bird that was magnified by the camera shooting the skyline.
It made for a jolly morning-show chuckle.
"It was a bit of a surprise last night, and of course I couldn't laugh about it at the time because it was a serious story I was reporting on, and I knew that it had happened because I could see it in the monitor in the back of the studio," Hitchener told Channel Nine morning show host Karl Stefanovic on Thursday. "I could see this giant thing walking behind me, and I thought, 'I think that's a bird, a large one."
Hitchener said that many of the cameramen hid behind their cameras laughing when the bird appeared.
"They didn't want to put me off," Hitchener said.
