Heavy Rain Alters High School Sports

All the rain is not only saturating your yard, it's also making high school fields too soggy to play on. Games have been postponed or moved and some are still up in the air.

Poor field conditions caused Olympic to move both football and soccer games to sites with turf fields.

Those sites, Ardrey Kell and Mallard Creek are both in use tomorrow night as Olympic will use Ardrey Kell and Mallard Creek is hosting Hopewell.

Three other "in county" games, West Charlotte at Butler, East Forsyth at Independence, and Providence at Vance would have to be moved to Saturday if field conditions are still a problem. Those three games are set for their scheduled 7:30 kickoffs.

Schools have to notify CMS by 3pm tomorrow if their game needs to be postponed.
