California Man Accused of Cooking and Eating Cats

BAKERSFIELD, C.A.--Investigators say they arrested a California man for cooking and eating cats. 

Police charged Jason Wilmert with animal cruelty and using a pet or domesticated animal for food. 

Both of the charges are misdemeanors.  Cops were tipped off by neighbors who reportedly heard cats wailing in Wilmert's house. 

Investigators say they found evidence that led them to believe that "he had the intent to use a cat for food."
