CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- The Safe Kids' Childhood Injury Prevention Conference is being held at the Hilton Charlotte University Place. Wilson was on the scene when the Charlotte Fire Department started a "live burn" demonstation to stress the importance of having fire sprinklers  in homes.  An average of 1 child a day dies from a fire and over 90,000 a year are injured with burns that are non-fatal.

Safe Kids Worldwide is a global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent unintentional childhood injury - the leading cuase of death and disability to children ages 1 to 14. More than 5,000 children die each year from injuries that could have been prevented.
