HICKORY, N.C.--Zahra Baker's father, Adam, has been deported to Australia and has taken Zahra's remains with him.

Baker's attorney, Shell Pearce, said he was deported about two weeks ago.

Zahra disappeared in 2010.  Her remains were found in Caldwell County later that year.  Baker's wife, Elisa, pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

Adam was never charged in Zahra's death but faced charges for other crimes in both Catawba and Caldwell counties.

Baker entered guilty pleas to the charges in Catawba County.

Pearce said Zahra's remains will be buried in a family plot in eastern Australia.
