SHELBY, N.C. (AP) _ The Cleveland County coroner says a man found dead in his jail cell days after being convicted of child abuse died of natural causes.

Coroner Dwight Tessneer says the results of an autopsy by the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner's Office show that 45-year-old Dwight Stacy Justice died of a brain aneurysm.

Justice was convicted of child abuse but found innocent of first-degree murder last week in the death of his stepson, 2-year-old Jeremiah Swafford.

Justice was found dead in his jail cell Tuesday morning, after his cellmate alerted authorities that Justice had stopped snoring.

Kathy Lynn Swafford, Justice's widow and Jeremiah's mother, is scheduled to stand trial on murder charges in the case next month. She has pleaded not guilty.
