GASTONIA, NC - A woman who was considered legally blind after being assaulted, was arrested  overnight for reckless driving.

According to a police report, Sarah Francis Boothe, 1904 Woodcrest Ave, Charlotte, was physically assaulted Wednesday morning.  In the domestic assault she was punched in the eye, causing a laceration and her eye to swell shut.  Docotors told her she was considered legally blind and shouldn't drive.

Shortly after midnight, Boothe was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving, after trying to drive home and hitting a traffic gate at Gaston Memorial Hospital.  Her headlights were turned off so she could try and slip past Hospital security.

She was released on a $1000 bond.
