St. Patty’s Day Brings Green to Businesses
Call in the luck ‘o the Irish. Analysts expect businesses will see more green this St. Patrick’s Day.
The National Retail Federation expects consumers to spend around $33 this holiday, up slightly from last year. The president of the NRF says, with many people still worried about the economy, it’s a chance for people to have a little fun. “The environment is still pretty difficult out there, but I think people always have the outlook of finding some sort of entertainment for themselves,” said Sebastian Cardona from Cramerton, NC. Many people are even out celebrating in advance of the holiday. Ri Ra Irish Pub in Uptown Charlotte is back open after having to shut its doors for nine months due to a fire. Thousands of celebrants made their way through the restaurant Saturday. “We opened our doors at nine o’clock this morning, and we welcomed a crowd for our traditional Irish breakfast and it hasn’t stopped since,” said Assistant Manager Paula McKenna. |
