Unemployed Backlash in a tough Job Climate

CHARLOTTE, NC-It's a dirty little secret, well almost, some companies are not wanting to hire the unemployed even in a tough job climate. As things slowly start to find a new normal, some companies may not want the unemployed, but others are seeking those out of work over those with a job.

The federal Hire Act started a few months ago, giving employers a 6.2% tax incentive if they hire the unemployed. Companies have another incentive to keep those employees working for the entire year, there is a $1,000 tax credit.
