CHARLOTTE, NC - Jenny Vallimont is a new mom and admits to making first time mom mistakes. She says, "We bought a lot of things we didn't need. We had five types of bottles. We didn't need five types of bottles!"

So for baby number two, she hired a baby planner who helped her design an adorable nursery in a small space and also helped streamline purchases. Vallimont says, "You look at, I think probably 3 or 4 years down the road, and realize that you've spent 90% of your money on things you never used."

Enter Abby Kapp. She helps parents decide what's worth investing in, like "A good stroller, you'll definitely get your moneys worth for."

Kapp owns Little Miracles Baby Planning in Charlotte. We met up with her at Shower Me With Love in SouthPark, a boutique she often takes clients to. Kapp started her baby planning business after becoming a mom herself. She says, "I understand when they're frustrated and when they're scared. I've been through that." Kapp takes the leg work out of researching products. She recommends the best, safest and newest stuff to her clients like the Mamaroo baby bouncer. "It was created to mimic the movements of a mom, like cradle motions,” she says.

Kapp helps parents-to-be set up registries, create baby announcements and even make their own baby food! She says of baby planners, "They're sort of like a one stop concierge and kinda just help the mom in all aspects!"

That help has been invaluable to new mom Jenny. She says the extra reassurance from her baby planner helps relieve some of the pressures of parenthood. "I would actually really recommend it to anyone who'd never had a baby before,” she says.

Most baby planners charge by the hour and that fee can range between $50 to $200. Kapp starts her clients off with a free consultation.
