CHARLOTTE, N.C. - McAlpine Creek Elementary school students used this Martin Luther King holiday to learn more about Dr. King and other famous people who have made history.  Dr. King, Winston Churchill,  Lance Armstrong, Mother Teresa and even entertainers Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson were only a few of the history makers at McAlpine today.  The book "The Young Traveler's Gift" was the inspiration for this "historical event" which is teaching the kids life lessons for success.
