CHARLOTTE, NC  -  Wilson was in West Charlotte to visit a family who recently had a free fence built for them by the Coalition to Unchain Dogs in order to unchain the family dogs.  He talked with Shawayne Jacobs  who owns the happy dogs (Maxxi and Trina)  and volunteers who helped build the fence.  The Coalition to Unchain Dogs is an all volunteer organization that is working to make the chaining of dogs a thing of the past.

Not only does the group work to build free fences for chained dogs and work to lobby against tethering laws, but also spay and neuter dogs in order to control over-population.

On Sunday, September 18th, the 2001 Dogs Ahoy - Cruising for Fences event be held to help raise funds to help unchain more dogs.  Join the group as they enjoy a beautiful day cruising around Lake Norman.  Get more information on the event HERE.

The Charlotte Chapter of the Coalition to Unchain Dogs is always in need of volunteers and donations.  No experience is necessary to volunteer.  Get more information on this great organization at their website at www.unchaindogs.org.
